Privacy at ProjBox
Two things to know up front: the desktop app is built to run on your machine, and this website collects only what we need to respond to you. We try not to overclaim either side.
The desktop app is local-first
ProjBox is designed so your project files stay on your machine. Snapshots, diffs, and version history are produced on your computer. The product is built to work without uploading your project files to a server.
We describe website data and app behavior separately on purpose. What this website collects is not the same as what the desktop app does.
What this website collects
When you fill out the early-access form on this site, we may collect:
- your name
- your email address
- your organization, university, or company
- any access code or campaign code you provide
- an optional message or workflow description
- basic submission metadata (e.g. submission time, the campaign code that brought you here)
Why we collect it
- to respond to early-access requests
- to distribute the app to invited users
- to manage pilot programs
- to understand which audiences are most interested
- to follow up with users who request access or support
Third-party services that may appear on the site
Depending on how the site is configured, we may use third-party services for embedded video, form processing, spam protection, light analytics, or email delivery. Examples include video hosts such as YouTube and form platforms such as Tally or Formspree. Those services have their own privacy practices, and your interactions with them (for example, watching the embedded demo video or submitting the access form) may be subject to their terms.
Access codes and links
Access codes passed in URLs are convenience and routing tools, not strong security controls. URL parameters can appear in browser history or server logs. Please don't put sensitive secrets in a URL parameter.
Cookies and analytics
This first version of the site does not set its own analytics cookies. If we add light analytics later, we will update this page. Embedded third-party content (such as a video player or an external form) may set its own cookies; that is up to those providers.
Email handling
Beta and website inquiries may be sent to matt@projbox.com. If a third-party form tool is used, submissions may also be stored in that provider's system.
Downloads
App download links on the download page are placeholders for now. When real builds are available, they will likely be hosted on a public release artifact host. Access decisions are informed by the early-access form, not enforced cryptographically in the URL.
